How to transfer a domain name to another domain registrar

Changing registrar for our domain name is very easy and will be completed in 7 working days. I have transferred two domain names from yahoo hosting to name.com. I have changed the registrar because the yahoo is charging $34.95 for renewal of a domain name but name.com is charging $7.99 for the same domain name. I have transferred http://www.nslfabricators.com  and http://www.it-lunar.com from yahoo to http://name.com

To transfer we need to do the following steps.

We should check the administrative contact of a domain name before initiating transfer. The new registrar sends an email to the administrative contact to get authorization from to transfer. This administrative email address can be found in existing domain registrar control panel. This email also can be found from http://www.who.is. We have to initiate a domain transfer if we have access to domain administrative email address

  1. We can not initiate transfer a domain name to other domain name registrar if the domain is in locked condition. So we should make sure that the domain to be transferred is unlocked. Domain can be locked or unlocked from a domain control panel.
  2. The authorization code should be provided to current registrar while initiating a domain transfer. Every domain name will have authorization code. This can also be found from the domain control panel
  3. After initiating a domain transfer to new registrar, new registrar automatically sends a email to administrative contact of the domain to get acceptance from the current owner of the domain.
  4. After verifying this authorization, name.com taken for me 5 working days to complete the domain transfer procedure.
  5. We should cancel any payment setups in the old registrar for the transferred domain to avoid wrong payments after transfering a domain to other registrar.
  6. Please note that we can not initiate transfer a domain name to other domain registrar before comple 60 days from purchaging a domain name.

Ask me any more questions regarding transferring a domain from one registrar to another registrar. I will clarify all of your doubts regarding this issue.

 Thanks

Raj
