How to solve FRF-00007 unable to open RFC Connection error during IDES ECC 6.0 installation

I got an error saying that” FRF-00007 unable to open RFC connection” while installing SAP ECC 6.0 Service Release 2 with ides. Then i read some articles and solutions wrote by other senior sap basis administrators and solved the problem by following steps suggested by them.

1. Start sap management console

2.Log-in to sap system

3. Type transaction codeSM59

4. Expand TCP/IP connections

5. Double click on SAPXPG_DBDEST_PSWDF025

6. Click Technical Settings Tab

7. Click Ctrl + F1 to display and change host name

4. Change Target host to your sap system name, you should get IP address of your sap server automatically

5. You can test this by clicking ‘connection test’ tab from the same

6. You should get the results without errors

7. Now you can retry the operation in installation screen of SAP ECC 6.0 SR2

    OK, just a quick report back. In my case the solution was just to login to ABAP via DDIC. Then I was prompted to change the password. SAP installation resumed by itself and this step was fine.

    Hello,

    I still can’t see my previous message, so not sure whether you’re getting me. I’m installing NetWeaver 7.3 on Solaris with oracle DB. I could somehow login to ABAP under the DDIC user but I don’t have an RFC destination with that name.
    Now I’m checking all of them, and it tages AGES as the system keeps compiling and compiling and COMPILING !!!

    Hello,

    I am experiencing the same problem, while installing SAP NetWeaver 7.3 on Solaris, using oracle 11 as DB. I would try to go to SM59 but I can’t login to my system. What would you suggest me to do ? Is there a way to modify this somehow in the DB or in a config file ??? Thanks A LOT for answering me!

    Hi Raj,

    while installing SAP , As you suggested I am trying to run console, but it stop after start or shows all workprocess running.

      Hi

      Please explain more about your error. Do not paste any error log files here. But explain, In which step you are getting this error. Did you configured your OS dependencies properly before starting sap installation? Please get back to me with explanation about error you are getting. I will try to answer the question clearly.
