1. Download Virtual PC Software from following link and install it on your windows PC

2. Run the Virtual PC

3. Click New, You will get welcome to the New Virtual Machine Wizard screen

4. Clcik Next, You will be prompted to select three options

5. Select Virtual Machine and click Next

6. the screen will ask you to select the virtual machine name and location

7. By default, the .vmc file will be saved in the My documents – My Virtual Machines folder with the given name. You can change this location by browsing files and folders. Click Next

8. Select the operating system which is to be installed on your virtual machine and click next

9. You can adjust the RAM which is to be allocated to this virtual machine using the screen comes after step 8

10. You can create a new virtual hard disk or we can use existing virtual hard disk

11. Select new virtual hard disk and click Next

12. A file with the extension of .vhd will be saved in selected location, all the files of virtaul machine will be stored in this file. So this file size will be increased as and when the installation is proceeding.

13. Click Next and Click Finish in the Completing the New Virtual Machine Wizard Screen

14. With these steps your Virtual machine settings are configured

15. You will get one entry related this virtual machine in the virtual PC Console

16. You can Right click required Virtual machine to install or start new operating system

17. Installation of the OS is as same as normal installation by keeping bootable CD in CD Drive
