Lithuania is one of big country in Europe and its capital is Vilnius. The land area of Lithuania is approximately 65,200 Square Kilometers. Total population of the country is 3.56 millions. The official language in this country is Lithuanian and also English. The local currency here is Litas and one Lita equals to 18.6373935 Indian rupees as on today i.e. on 2nd Feb, 2010. This currency will be converted into Euros in near future. Lithuania is a part of European Union. So visa free movements are existing between the schengen Countries. This country has got independence from Russia on 16 Feb, 1918.
Resident Permit: The Residence Permit (PR) will be issued to non European Union nationals if they have sickness insurance, funds to support and place to stay. This will take 6 months time to get PR by non EU nationals. Residency in the Lithuania can be given to anybody who can pay tax and favorable to boost country’s economy and spends 183 days in a year or 280 days in two years within the country.
Transportation: There are three international airports available in this country, two of them in its capital city Vilnius. There are also international train services connecting other countries like Germany, Russia, and Poland. There are also bus services operating between these countries and known as most preferable means in contrast to -railways. Klaipeda is a shipyard and it is most famous commercial shipyard but with less passengers ferries.

Climate: The average temperature is 20⁰ C , it may rise to 30⁰ C in summer and can be -5 to -20⁰ C in Winter.

There are 5 faculties in this university, they are faculty of medicine, pharmacy, Odontology, Nursing and public health. Also KMU has four research institutes and hospital. All these faculties make Kaunas University of medicine a unique university in Lithuania. KMU offers 4 degree programs in English and also it participate in medical research activities with the mutual co-operation with WHO.
KTU: Kaunas University of Technology is one of the largest technical universities in Baltic States. This university has national wide reputation for higher education and research activities. This is situated in the city called Kaunas. Kaunas is the second largest city in Lithuania. This was established in the year 1922 and recently this university has developed a lot in all its fields of activities and became visible in the international arena. KTU offers courses in ultra sound, organic chemistry, Mechatronics, Environmental engineering…etc
