Computer hardware and networking course is designed such a way that the student will get knowledge in essential topics which will give him confidence to learn other computer courses. This course is foundation to Windows and Linux administration courses. I teach this course to group 5-10 students.  Please get back to me if you are group of 5-10 people to get this training at your premises.

Day 1:

  • Role of a Computer Hardware Engineer (IT Technician)
  • Who can become a Hardware Engineer
  • Why Computer Hardware knowledge is vital for any IT Professional
  • Common activities of a hardware engineer in a company

Day 2:

  • List of parts in a computer
  • Identification of different parts of a computer
  • Connectivity between parts in a computer
  • Assembling and dismantling a computer
  • Precautions to be taken while assembling a computer
  • Processor Interface, Sockets, Slots, PGA, DIP, ISA, PCI & AGP
  • SIMM & DIMM Slots
  • SRAM, DRAM, SDRAM, DDR, RDRAM
  • Hard Disk Device Types – IDE, SATA, SCSI
  • Master and Slave configuration using jumpers
  • Identification of different ports based on no. of pins and shape

Day 3:

  • Different types of SMPS and It’s testing
  • Understanding and identifying different types of Intel processors like 8085, 8086, 80286, 80386, 80486, Pentium, Pentium II, Pentium III, Pentium IV, Dual Core, Core 2 Duo, Core 2 Quad, Core vPro, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, Intel Xeon, Intel  Itanium, Intel Atom and AMD processors like Sempron, Athlon, Phenom
  • Understanding and identifying different types of Mother Boards
  • Identifying different chips on mother boards
  • Understanding about chipset of any mother board
  • Finding suitable processor for a given mother board

Day 4:

  • Identification of different types of RAM
  • Identification of different types of HDD (Hard Disk Drives)
  • Identification of different onboard video chips and Video Cards (Graphics and PCI)
  • Identification of different onboard Audio chips and Audio cards
  • Identification of different onboard Network Chips and Network Cards

Day 5:

  • Information about POST and Boot process, POST Routines, POST Beep Codes
  • Information and Troubleshooting of CMOS
  • Difference between BIOS and CMOS,CMOS battery failures errors
  • Functionality of CMOS
  • Configuring different COMS Settings
  • Assigning and Clearing CMOS Password

Day 6:

  • Booting and it’s purpose
  • What is file system
  • Understanding FAT16, FAT32, NTFS Files systems
  • Hard disk partitions and their types. Primary and Extended.
  • Using FDISK to create partitions and to set Active partition,
  • Formatting a drive and transferring system files
  • Booting through Floppy, CD and a HDD

Day 7:

  • What is an operating system
  • Types of operating systems
  • Installing windows 98/XP/2000 operating systems
  • Understanding Dual and Multi booting operating systems
  • Boot sequence of different operating systems
  • Managing Hardware in Windows using Device Manager
  • Installation, remove, rollback device drivers of Display, Sound, Network and Printer
  • Using utilities like MSCONFIG, SCANREG
  • Troubleshooting booting problems using startup advance option

Day 8

  • Installing and configuring DMP (Dot Matrix Printer)
  • Installing and configuring Inkject Printer
  • Installing and configuring  Laserjet Printer
  • Installing and configuring Scanner
  • Installing and configuring Microphone with headphone
  • Installing and configuring Web Camera
  • Installing and configuring Mobile Phone as modem  in a computer

Day 9

  • Configuring Virtual Memory (Page File) Initial and Max Size
  • Using Defragmentation utility to do the diagnostic Setup
  • Different modes of operating system restore
  • Restoring the computer to an earlier time
  • Undo my last restoration

Day 10:

  • Installation and using of general purpose software like Winzip, Winrar, Winamp, Vlc player, Real player, Acrobat reader, Microsoft office
  • Installation and using of programming languages like c, c++, php, java
  • Installation and configuring of Antivirus software and it’s management

Day 11:

  • Introduction to database software
  • Installation of database software like  Mysql, MS SQL server, Oracle, IBM DB2

Day 12:

  • Installing and using CD ROM software (Nero and Roxio)
  • Making Audio and Video CDs
  • Creating Data CDs and DVDs
  • Creating Multisession CDs and DVDs
  • Creating Bootable CDs and DVDs

Day 13:

  • Installation of Linux operating system
  • Making Dual boot between windows and Linux
  • Installing and configuring VMware / Virtual PC
  • Installing Solaris operating system in Virtual PC
  • Using GHOST software

Day 14

  • What is Internet
  • Different ways to configure internet in a desktop or laptop (Dial-up, Cable, DSL Broadband, Router, Wireless…etc)
  • Introduction to modems
  • Functionality of Front Panel Lights.V.98,V.32 Standards
  • Different Types of Modems like Dialup Modems, Cable Modems/ DSL Modems
  • Configuring Outlook Express
  • Backup and Restore of Files, Folders and Mails…etc
  • Exporting and importing of mails

Day 15

  • Introduction of Networks and Networking concepts
  • Network topologies, Different Protocols Like TCP/IP, NetBeUI, HTTP, SMTP, NNTP, FTP
  • Working on TCP/IP using different IP classes
  • Significance of IP Classes
  • Networking Devices Hub, Switch, Routers, Gateways, Bridges
  • Different Standards for Uploading and Downloading
  • Connecting 2 or more computers in network
  • Logging into computer using different users
  • Sharing files and folders
  • Internet Connection Sharing

Day 16

  • Soldering and De-Soldering
  • Testing of electronic components
  • Display problems
  • Finding and repairing mother board problems (Chip level)
  • Replacing SMD Chips on mother board
  • Disk problems (FDD, HDD and CD ROM Drive)
  • Solving blue screen problems
  • Resolving drivers and application problems
  • Breaking administrator passwords
  • Solving different peripheral problems

Day 17

  • Laptop basics
  • Dismantle and Assembling of a Laptop
  • Installation of device drivers in a laptop
  • Configuring wireless internet in a laptop
  • Laptop troubleshooting

    Respected Raj Sir,
    I am doing computer science engineering at bilaspur, chhattisgarh now in 3rd year. My college placement record is not so good and also some faculty problem so I want to take courses in hyderabad for my good future n career. Plz suggest me the best institutes names which can provide theoritical n practical training on hardware and networking courses. Also suggest me to select the career field whether to select hardware n networking or programming n software field. Plz reply sir, i m so confused n depressed on this matter. I can come to hybdbd in three months a year june july n january
