All most all the word processors will use the same mark-up language to allow the user to set margins for a page, enhance the look by changing font settings, and add special effects to the text and so on. We need to convert these documents to be converted to HTML format, which the web browser can understand.

A mark-up language was developed to create documents in the year 1980. These documents could be displayed consistently on different hardware and operating systems. This mark-up language is called SGML on web.

HTML is used to construct formatted pages for the web known as web pages. It comprises of mark-up language and web page content.  Mark-up language is used to how the text, image, video will be incorporated and also control elements such as fronts, font sizes, paragraph spacing, alignment of pages…etc and web page content is just actual text information that displayed on the page.
